Welcome, and thank you for visiting Susanna Wright Psychotherapy.
You may have come to this page to find out about me, but hoping to better understand yourself. You are perhaps wondering if Jungian analysis or psychotherapy could open up a path of development for you.
My practice as a Jungian analyst and psychotherapist has covered more than 20 years of clinical and professional experience of working with others, and years before that of getting to know myself. In 1962, Jung said that "man's task is to become conscious of the contents that press upwards from the unconscious". Becoming more conscious, getting a perspective on ourselves, our relationships, on the world around us, can be the work of a lifetime.
“Greater awareness does not come in a single blinding flash of enlightenment. It comes slowly, piece by piece, and each piece must be worked for by the patient effort of study and observation of everything, including ourselves."
-M Scott Peck (1978)
A journey of awakening can start from many places in life; one route is through an authentic engagement with another human being who is interested in you, trained and experienced in the emotional depths of our human lives, and in the ways of the mind. Through finding a safe place to think about the traumatic impact of past life experiences that have been ignored for far too long.
Jungian therapy and analysis can be an uncomfortable process. It takes courage to come to terms with hidden or unconscious inner truths, to face into the storm of unacceptable outer realities. But those avoided truths and realities can become the basis of re-orientating ourselves at times in our lives when we have a sense of going nowhere, of not knowing where to turn.
“There are as many nights as days, and the one is just as long as the other in the year’s course. Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness and the word ‘happy’ would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.”

Although I don't hold regular sessions there, this location offers a convenient option for clients who prefer an in-person consultation in the city.
